John D. "Jack" O'Bryan — Born 20 April 1866, Township of East Nissouri, County of Oxford, Ontario, Canada
John D. O'Bryan of Aylmer, died on Friday night, June 26th, in St. Joseph's Hospital London, in his 77th year. He was born in Nissouri Township and came to Aylmer district as a young man. In 1907 he moved to Manitoba where he engaged in farming until 1937, when he came back to Aylmer and retired. Mr. O'Bryan had been ill for the past six weeks and was admitted to the London hospital on June 1st.
Deceased was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Harriston and was a member of St. Paul's United Church, Aylmer. He is survived by wife, the former Maggie Drysdale: one sister, Mrs. Ruth Donaldson, of London, Ontario., and one brother, James O'Bryan, of St. Thomas.
The funeral service was held at the Jas. H. Barnum Funeral Home on Monday, June 29th at 2:30 p.m. Rev. W. D. Stenlake officiated. During the service Mr. Barnum sang as a solo : My God I Thank Thee." His accompanist was Mrs. McLay Miller. The pallbearers were: Fred W. Kaiser, Charles Kaiser, E. E. McTaggart, Solon Baughman, Walter Boughner and Michael McKnight. Flower bearers were: Don Watterworth, H. M. Gunstone, Harry McKenny, Albert Percy, Charles McTaggart and Ivan McTaggart. Interment took place in the Dunboyne Cemetery.
There were many beautiful floral tributes, wreath "Jack", sprays, brother Jim and sister Ruth: John Ashton and family: John Glyde and Bud, Jessie and Basil, Clyde, Gordon and Eliza, Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Welter, Fay and Hugh Mr. and Mrs. Fred Haggan, Solon Baughman and Don Waterworth: St. Paul's Brotherhood Class: Dunboyne Woman's Assoc., Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Powers: baskets "Neighbor" Mr. and Mrs. John Laidlaw; Dr. and Mrs. L. A. Brown.
Relatives and friends attended the service from Dearborn Mich.: London, St. Thomas, Sparta, Belmont and New Sarum.
