"SUSIE" THELMA VIOLA MCREYNOLDS

Mrs. "Susie" Thelma Viola McReynolds, age 94, of Bolivar, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday February 12, 2007, at 6:30 a.m. in Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar after a brief illness. She was born September 2, 1912 in Arcadia, to Clifford and Gertrude Mayfield. She was a meat wrapper, a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, and American Legion Post No. 138 Auxiliary.
Susie loved her family. She liked to go fishing with her husband and daughter. She would go and watch her daughter play softball and other school activities.
She loved to watch her grandchildren play baseball, softball and soccer. As well as taking care of them when she was able, Susie was saved as a young adult and loved going to Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She also loved a pink rosebush that was given to her by her beloved husband; which is now in her daughter's yard to be nurtured.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Roy "Mac" McReynolds, two sisters, Velma "Nancy" Geschwind, and Mary Christenson; three brothers, Norman, Marvin "Bill", and Mewin "Bud" Mayfield; a niece, Dianne and a nephew, Gary.
She leaves behind her on this earth her beloved church family; one daughter, one son, a son-in-law, a sister, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. "Susie" Thelma McReynolds will be held at 3 p.m. Friday February 16, 2007, at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Bolivar, with Brother Ron Ervin officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2007 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place Tuesday, February 20 at 12:30 p.m. in the Fort Scott National Cemetery. In lieu of plants and flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bird Cage at Parkview Health Care Facility in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Pitts Chapel of Bolivar.
